OUTSIDE OF PRIVATE PRACTICE-
For
8 years, Gary performed services for WORKSHOPS INC., a
Not-for-profit organization providing assessment, work skills
training, job placement and counseling services for adults with
disability in the Birmingham Metropolitan area.
Gary
provided counseling and assessment services for Workshop Inc.
clients and consultation services for staff and referring
Alabama Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors.
Gary
has also worked several years as a consultant to the Jefferson
County Family Court System teaching Parenting and Life Skills to
court referred adolescents and their parents.
Gary worked as a therapist at Children Harbor at Children's
Hospital for 1 & 1/2 years providing counseling to
chronically ill children and their families.
Gary
is also an approved supervisor of Master's level
counselors as a part of their required process towards licensure
in the State of Alabama.
Gary
feels fortunate to have Anita Neuer, MA, CRC, LPC as his office associate and clinical
consultant. Gary and Anita each maintain their individual
practices within a shared suite of offices. Their combined
clinical interests and professional experiences make for an
exceptionally wide range of available counseling services.
They offer business consultation in a number of areas including
leadership training, conflict resolution, team-building and
more. Further, they offer conjoint
counseling services for couples. They also
have presented at professional conferences on the local, state

Further,
Gary was privileged to have been a Certified Counselor Associate
(CCA) of Judith Harrington, Ph.D., LPC for two years while
fulfilling the State of Alabama Licensed Professional Counselor
requirements. Her mentorship was invaluable during his
training as is her friendship and continuing support is
invaluable today.
